My Suicide Story

Waking up to the news of another incident involving a jump into the Lagos lagoon yesterday has deepened my distress and brought to mind several reminders that I also wish to share with you.

Upon hearing such stories, one might react with a somber "Oh, how sad indeed," followed by the inevitable question, "Why?"

Each of us encounters difficult times that can seem insurmountable. In response, we start to react internally, contemplating various strategies to overcome these challenges. It's a universal experience.

I'm here to provide support with information and conversation, but it sounds like you might be going through a difficult time. If you're feeling overwhelmed, I encourage you to talk to someone who can provide personal support. 🌼

I recall a time when I was overwhelmed by a problem, feeling powerless, as if counseling made no difference. I struggled to pray, and when I did, I couldn't find belief in it. Ironically, when I started having suicidal thoughts, one thing held me back: the thought of who would care for my sons and provide the life I'd envisioned for them. It may seem insignificant, but that single question dispelled those dark thoughts. I started reminding myself daily of the abundant love around me that I was overlooking.

1)You are not alone: no test or temptation that comes your way is beyond what others have experienced. Remember that God will never let you down; He will never allow you to be pushed past your limit; He will always be there to help you come through it.

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; He'll never let you be pushed past your limit; He'll always be there to help you come through it.

2)Embrace this truth: God's love for you is steadfast. Make it an integral part of your daily reflection. Grasp it, experience it; regardless of your emotions, God's love remains unconditional, unwavering, unfaltering, unlike human affection, and is never tainted.

3)Establishing a support system is crucial, though it may be challenging due to the difficulty in trusting others nowadays. You might fear ridicule or judgment when sharing personal matters. However, not everyone will react negatively. It's important to identify and connect with a support system. Family can be a pillar, but if that's not an option, seek out a trustworthy individual. We all require a support network; no one is meant to live in isolation.

4)Trust in yourself and your journey; avoid comparing yourself to others. It's truly challenging, but after all, who is keeping score and handing out rewards?

Embrace your own journey and focus on your personal development without comparing yourself to others.

Make yourself your top priority. If social media is causing you to compare yourself and feel animosity towards others, the solution is simple: delete it. Focus on self-improvement first, and then consider returning to social media.

It is important for everyone to practice self-care by engaging in activities like playing, going to the movies, treating yourself to an ice cream, and spending time with friends.

Simply do whatever benefits you.

You can get across to us and we can help you navigate

Will speak with you at a later time

Suicide should never be an option for anyone. The eternal damnation is far worse than whatever you are going through at the moment. I hope everyone gets to know, "nothing lasts forever" the sun will shine again, it might take long, but you have to wait and accept the sun when it comes. Blessings!
